A History of Popular Music – The 1990s
The nineties were allusive years when the alternative became main-stream, the underground crept onto terra firma, and when previously segregated subgenres aligned more closely with club DJs than with pop charts and traditional radio jocks. If the ingredients of dance music had all been added to the pot by the end of the eighties, the 1990s were when their flavors fully emerged.
