Red Chair Sessions - Songs For Your Favorite Friend

After the restrictions of the pandemic were lifted and the world opened up again, I hatched a plan. Feeling socially parched from my life in lockdown, I figured I could make up for lost time with a trip to Berlin, where I could cram two years worth of a social life into three months. This ended up being like when you promise to eat a few potato chips then wind up eating the whole bag. It’s two and a half years later and I’m still here. 

Of all the things I miss from back home, the big red chair that sits in my kitchen is at the top of the list. This isn’t to say I miss the chair itself, in ten years of owning it I have personally only sat in it three or four times, but it served a purpose. My kitchen was situated with a similar dynamic to the set of a talk show, and the red chair is where my guests would sit. 

Being away for this long, nostalgia has a way of creeping in, and I do find myself missing these red chair sessions. It was with that in mind that my first mix in a while is a selection of music I’d be inclined when sitting face to face with any of my favorite friends.
