Analog Nights - A Mix of Slow Funk and Future Boogie

While I’ve always been comfortable with my place as a bedroom DJ, I get the appeal of playing a proper party. Commanding a packed dance floor can be wildly gratifying, like standing in front of a lost tribe with an iPhone and convincing them that you’re a God because you can predict the weather. The first draft of this mix was the sort of thing that would make a raver reach for his glow stick, but eventually the fact that I play records while sitting in a chair and not a DJ booth eventually descended the sound into a SoCal style of slow-funk better suited to headphones and car stereos than warehouses and clubs.
